Permissions in Nory
Tailor the access that you give to your employees, by their role or by the individual.
Permissions overview
By default, Nory will allow employees different permissions based on their role in the company. A waiter may only need basic access to view their schedule and manage their time off requests whereas a location manager will need access to employee data, stock control and reporting. Use permissions to ensure your employees have the access they need for their roles.
Editing permissions
To edit the access an employee has in Nory (permissions), select the employee from the list in the people tab or use the search bar.
Select the permissions tab in the top right-hand corner.
Select the permission type from the drop-down menu.
Permission types
There are four permission types available.
Employee
This permission level will allow the employee access to their schedule, punch in/out for their shift(s), swap shifts and request and manage time off. The additional permissions available are below.
Supervisor
A supervisor will have the below permissions activated as default but the option to toggle on these additional permissions is available.
Location Manager
A location manager will have the below permissions activated as default but the option to toggle on these additional permissions is available.
Admin
Admin access will give the user full access to all functions in Nory.
Available permissions
Below is a list of the available permissions and the access they give in Nory.
Can see and edit employee wages
This will allow the employee to view and edit the wage and salary rates of all employees at that location on both the weekly timecards and employee profiles.
π‘ If you disable this permission for an employee they will not be able to add new employees.
Can see and upload employee documents
This will allow employees to view existing documents and upload new documents to each employee profile at their location.
Can export timecards
This will allow employees to be able to export approved timecards in CSV format for payroll purposes.
Can edit timecards
This will allow the employee to edit the punch times of each staff member (including their own) at their location.
Can override timecards
This will allow the employee to be able to unapprove and edit timecards that are more than 30 days old. Without this permission the employee will not be able to edit or unapprove timecards more than 30 days old.
Can approve timecards
This will allow the employee to approve the timecards each staff member (including their own) at their location.
Can approve schedule
This will allow the employee the ability to approve schedules so that they can be published.
Can view personal info
This will allow the employee to be able to the see personal info of other employees including DOB, address, NI/PPS details.

Can approve holiday request
This will allow the employee to approve holiday requests for employees at a location they are assigned to. Or any location if they are an admin user.
Can access and edit location groups
This will allow the employee to be able to create amend or delete location groups
Can access all locations
Allows the user to access all locations on Nory.
π‘ If an admin has this switched off they only have admin access at the locations that they are assigned to in the role section of their file.
Can access reports for all locations
This allows the employee to access data for all locations set up within the brand.
Can adjust cost of labour view
This allows the employee access to amend the COL targets on the schedules.
Can edit holiday entitlements
This allows the employee to amend holiday entitlements for employees
Can deactivate users from other locations
This allows the employee to deactivate employees from locations that are not their home location.

Can export employee data
This gives the user access to export HR data from the people section

Can edit permissions for users
Allows the user to be able to amend permissions for other users
Can access inventory management features
This will allow the employee to have access to order, receive invoices, count inventory and create waste entries and transfers.
π‘ An employee must have this permission in order to have any other inventory permissions available.
Can add and edit inventory items, recipes and suppliers
This will allow the employee access to inventory and supplier setup.
Can add inventory items from deliveries only
The user can add inventory items but only from the orders tab.
Can access Inventory reports
This will allow the employee access to the management reports that rae created once a count is completed.
Can edit stock counts
This will allow the employee to reopen a completed count update and update records.
Can edit waste
The user will be able to reopen and edit waste entries
Can edit invoices
This will allow an employee to update received invoices.
Can clock out from any location
This will allow the employee to clock out of their shift from outside of the store.
π‘ This permission can be helpful for Drivers, who may finish their shift far away from the location.
