This article is for Admin users on the Nory web app. Only Admins can connect All Gravy. Connecting All Gravy is available to all brands, and one connection covers every location in your brand.
What connecting All Gravy does
Connecting All Gravy lets All Gravy read your employee data from Nory.
All Gravy is an employee engagement and communication platform for hospitality teams.
To connect All Gravy, you create an API key in Nory and give the key to All Gravy. An API key is a secret code that lets another system access your Nory data.
Admins can create an All Gravy key themselves in Nory. You no longer need to ask your Customer Success Manager for an All Gravy key.

Before you start
Check these points before you connect All Gravy.
You need the Admin role. Other roles can see the All Gravy tile but see the message "You don't have permission to manage API access" when they click the tile.
You need to use the Nory web app. You can't connect All Gravy from the iOS app, the Android app or the Kiosk.
Nory shows the All Gravy key only once. Have a password manager or another secure way to send the key ready before you start.
Connect All Gravy
Follow these steps in the Nory web app.
Go to Settings > Integrations.
Type "All Gravy" in the Search for an integration box, or select Employee engagement from the categories list.
Click the All Gravy tile. The tile reads "Employee engagement and communication platform for hospitality teams."
The Connect All Gravy window shows what All Gravy can access and the access level. Read only is selected already. Leave Read only selected unless All Gravy has asked you for Read and write access.
Click Connect All Gravy. Nory creates the key and shows it hidden in the Your All Gravy access key window.
Click Copy key to copy the key to your clipboard. You can click Reveal key to see the key, but you don't need to.
Save the key in a password manager, and send the key to All Gravy securely, for example through a password manager or a one-time sharing link. Don't paste the key into a plain email or chat message.
Tick the box I've saved this key in a password manager or given it to All Gravy.
Click Done. The Done button only becomes clickable after you tick the box.
Nory can't show the All Gravy key again after you click Done. If you lose the key, read How do I disconnect All Gravy or get a new key?
Choosing an access level
The access level controls whether All Gravy can only read your data, or can also add employees to Nory.
Access level | What All Gravy can do |
Read only | All Gravy can read your employee, location and position data. All Gravy can't change anything in Nory. |
Read and write | All Gravy can read the same data and can also add new employees to Nory. All Gravy can't change or remove existing employees. |
All Gravy only needs Read only access for its standard set-up. You can't change the access level of an existing key. To change the access level, disconnect All Gravy and connect again with the new access level.
Checking whether All Gravy is connected
You check the connection by opening the All Gravy tile.
Go to Settings > Integrations and click the All Gravy tile.
If your brand has an active All Gravy key, the All Gravy access window shows Connected under Connection status.
The All Gravy access window also shows the access level and a key hint.
For a key created in Nory by an Admin, the All Gravy access window also shows who connected All Gravy and on what date.
The key hint shows the start and end of your key, for example "nory_live_sk_…XkT4". The last 4 characters ("XkT4" in this example) help you and All Gravy check you're using the same key.
If your brand has more than one active All Gravy key, the All Gravy access window shows the most recently created key.
If Nory created an All Gravy key for your brand in the past, the All Gravy access window shows Connected, and the existing key keeps working. You don't need to do anything.
Nory will never ask you for your All Gravy key. If someone asks you for the key, don't share it.

Your brand name.
The last 4 characters of the key hint shown in the All Gravy access window.
The access level shown in the All Gravy access window.
What All Gravy told you, including any error message.
