How to set up Nory Kiosk app

This article describes a process of setting up Nory Kiosk.

When to use Nory Kiosk?

The Kiosk app is a great solution if mobile phone clocking in is not desired or not optimal. For example if signal in the restaurant is really bad and we can't get the GPS coordinates to verify employee location or if you require employees to be physically in a location of the device to start work and clock in or out.

The Kiosk App

First step is downloading and installing the app, this should be done on the shared device in your restaurant that all employees have access to.

Depending on your operating systems we have two versions:

Once the app is downloaded you will need to sign in with a Nory account with Location Manager permissions or higher to activate it. Please ensure the account you're using for the first log in is associated with the location you want to set up kiosk for. Once activated, this is the screen visible to employees:

If the Kiosk app is being set up as the only way employees should be clocking in, we can force employees to only use that method and disable the Mobile App clock in.

In your Nory account, on the browser, navigate to Settings>Select Location>Clock-in, make sure the toggle for "Only allow clock ins via Nory Kiosk app" in on.

*This is a location based settings, you need to adjust it for every location.

Employee Setup

For clocking in and out all employees will need their own unique 4 digit pin number. If you already use such a code this can be entered for each user profile. Alternatively you can ask Nory to assign a unique pin number for each employee.

In your Nory account, on a browser, navigate to Schedule & Workforce > People > Select employee > Role > Punch clock PIN

You can enter your own PIN here or click "Unique Pin" to generate one.

Once the PIN number are assigned or generated, they will need to be shared with relevant employees.
