By adding overtime rules, you can pay your team different rates depending on the hours or day that they worked.

Head to settings under your brand name on the top left hand side.

Then Select labour from the brand settings and scroll down to overtime rules and click on 'add rule'

There are two types of overtime rule that can be applied:

Worked hours rules

This rule allows you to automatically pay your team a different rate when they reach a specified number of hours per day or per week.

To create a worked hours overtime rule:

Step 1: Give the overtime rule a name then select whether the rule should apply for daily hours or weekly hours.

Then type the number of hours the employee needs to work over, to be eligible for the premium pay / hour.

Step 2:

You can then choose who should benefit from that rule. You have 3 options to choose from:

  • Extra pay / hour

    • You can decide an additional amount that will be paid per hour on top of the employee's usual wage.

    • Can apply to hourly - daily - salaried employees.

  • Additional % / hour

    • You can decide the additional % of the wage that will be paid on top of the employee's usual wage

    • Can apply to hourly paid employees only

  • Fixed pay rate / hour

    • You can choose the wage that will be paid per hour (replacing the usual wage)

    • Can apply to hourly paid employees only

When ready, you can hit save so that the rule can apply from now on.

🚨The rule is now active, but will not affect any previously approved shifts.

All unapproved timecards (from the past 90 days max) will have the updated wage calculated including the premium.

Day of the week rules

Pay your team a different rate specific to the day that they work.

Step 1:

Give the overtime rule a name and select day(s) of the week from the options.

Then select the time range option. Either for the entire day or for a given time range within that day.

    • Can apply to hourly paid employees only when selecting a time range. If selecting the whole day can apply to hourly - daily - salaried employees.
