What’s Nory Messenger?

Nory Messenger is a way to communicate with your restaurant Team and Managers. No more mixing work conversations with your friends’ chats!

You can access Messenger in the Nory web app by clicking the “speech bubbles” icon on the left side of the screen.

Conversations list

When you open Messenger, the first thing you see is a list of conversations. By default, those include the company-wide chat and conversations for each Location you work in.

Click a conversation to read and respond to messages.

Single conversation

When in the conversation view, click the bar at the bottom of your screen to start typing a message.

To attach a file, click the Paperclip icon.

Click the Smiley icon next to a message to react to it with an emoji. Click the Three dots icon to copy it or reply to it. If the message is yours, you can also edit its contents.

Creating a new conversation

Click on the icon in the top right corner of the screen, then Group, then select the people you want to chat with by clicking on the checkbox next to their names. Finally, Click the “Create” button to start the conversation.

Change the name of a conversation

By default, Nory Messenger uses participants’ names as the conversation name. Sometimes you might want to change that to something more descriptive, like “Shift swap” or “Front of House”.

Choose the conversation from the list, and click the information icon in the top right corner of the screen. Then, click Edit to change the conversation’s name and image.

Leaving a conversation

Choose the conversation from the list, and click the information icon in the top right corner of the screen. Then, click Leave channel.

Setting your profile picture

To add or change your profile pic, click the Person icon in the top left corner of the conversations list.
