People compliance tasks

How to find and resolve compliance issues that relate to your employees, such as minimum wage and visas.

Written by Alexia

What are people compliance tasks?

Some compliance issues need to be fixed at employee level rather than from your schedule. The Compliance Assistant checks employee profiles and surfaces these as tasks at the top of the People page. You get a view of what needs attention, with the recommended action to resolve each one.

Note: Tasks you do not action stay on the list and carry over to the next day until they are resolved.

What is covered

The assistant flags the following people compliance tasks:

Task

How to resolve

Employee earning below minimum wage

Update the employee's pay to match or exceed the minimum wage for their home location's jurisdiction.

Visa expired

  • Add the new visa document and a future expiry date to the employee's profile.

  • The employee is automatically blocked from new shifts until this is done.

Visa expiring within 30 days

A heads-up while the employee can still work.

  • Start the renewal and update the expiry date once you have the new document.

Resolving people compliance tasks

Resolving a minimum wage task

Open the task and update the employee's pay rate to at or above the minimum wage for their jurisdiction. Once updated, the task clears.

Note: Minimum wage is based on the employee's home location's jurisdiction, and where relevant, their age.

Resolving a visa task

  • Visa expired: the employee is automatically prevented from being scheduled for new shifts. To resolve, add the new visa document and a future expiry date on the employee's profile. This immediately unblocks the employee who can be scheduled again and clears the task.

  • Visa expiring soon: follow up with the employee to renew before it lapses. They can still work in the meantime. Update the expiry date once you have the new document.

⚠️ Note: For the Visa reminder to be sent out to employees for them to upload their visa document, remember to first add this in the documents being requested from the Nory app from your brand settings

When an employee is already scheduled

If an employee with an expired visa or missing documents already has upcoming shifts, the task shows you those shifts so you can act on them. A few situations to be aware of:

  • Upcoming shifts: these will be removed and added as open shifts instead. You can review them and reassign these shifts to other members of your team.

  • Approved timecards: shifts that already have an approved timecard cannot be removed. Review and edit these in the timecards view if needed, so an existing approval is never undone unexpectedly.
